Course Web Sites

About the Course Web Sites

Web pages with div-based layout are smaller than those with table-based layouts. It is also easier to update the design - you can change all of your pages by changing a single CSS document - but they're not always easy to develop. So I've developed two templates for everyone to use. They are customized for MSE, but can be adapted for use by any department.

These can be downloaded and adapted to fit your needs, or, if you are in the MSE department, you can use Contribute to develop your course web pages. The two course web sites are pictured below. Both sites are valid XHTML and meet Section 508 accessibility standards.

There are two downloadable versions of each site - one for Contribute users and one for Dreamweaver users. There is no difference between sites produced by the two versions.

The sample sites each contain two pages - a sample syllabus and a sample course time and location page. The two pages in each sample site contain different header information (instructor name, etc.) in order to show you what the sites look like with more or less information.
